The opening of the first “Center of Excellence in Health and Tourism” took place on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the RIN Grand Hotel in Bucharest

Yesterday, March 5, 2015, putting together skills, experience and knowledge, and offering all inclusive packages, Dr. Leahu – Dental Clinics (Dr. Ionut Leahu), and Seytour (Razvan Nacea) – the first specialized medical tourism company in Romania opened the first “Center of Excellence in Health and Tourism” (Event Partners: FC Dinamo Bucharest and RIN Grand Hotel) in Romania, by guaranteeing better coordination of patient care for patients travelling from one country to another.

Reconfirming the connection between Romanian-American University (RAU) and medical tourism business, by harmonizing the academic interest with the demands of businesses through a structured dialogue, Monica Paula Ratiu, the Vice Dean of the RAU School of Domestic and International Economy of Tourism (ETII) and Gina Gilet Sztruten, the Scientific Secretary of ETII (both Members of the RAU Management-Marketing Department), Theodor Purcarea, Editor-in-Chief of the “Holistic Marketing Management” Journal of the RAU School of Management-Marketing, and also RAU Students participated at this special event.

It is worth to remember within this context that the Romanian-American University organized on May 15, 2013, in collaboration with the Romanian Distribution Committee, a remarkable Round table: “Challenges and opportunities in the tourism industry within the context of globalization.” On that occasion, Razvan Nacea (former RAU Student) addressed the topic of “Medical tourism – a new engine for Romanian tourism development”, while, for instance, Alexandru T. Bogdan (Romanian Academy) and Theodor Purcarea (RAU), addressed the topic of “Tourism at ECO-BIO-DIPLOMACY times, the new concept for intelligent sustainable development in a globalized world, in the context of eco-bio-economy.” On the other hand, to give other two examples, Ionut Negoita, President of RIN Group, addressed the topic of „A business model designed to create value requested by the client, ensuring the balance between re-innovation and complexity”, while Petru Filip (Member of the Board of the Romanian Distribution Committee) addressed the topic of „Tourism and the imperative of concrete, pragmatic and achievable actions aiming building sustainable relationships between brands and people, helping to promote Romanian country brand.”
