The Romanian-American University (RAU) marked an impressive Opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 academic year on Friday, September 30, 2022. The Rector of the Romanian-American University (RAU), Professor Costel Negricea, delivered a powerful message on the importance of education to get knowledge and improve confidence, in embracing new beginnings, enabled to see the right direction, taking advantage of the educational opportunities and making a difference in the world by building a better life for the community, having meaning in life. This is made possible by continuously applying the new data on the value of RAU higher education and establishing trusting relationship in going beyond teaching skills, and studying, reasoning, and working through problems and challenges together in the RAU agile and rising interconnected working environment, shaping agile minds on the basis of great seamless RAU student experiences (including high-quality digital experiences within RAU students’ supported journeys), embracing change and adapting thinking quickly and clearly when faced with disruption and uncertainty, recovering after a business crisis, for instance, and being prepared for the next one that arrives. RAU Rector’s opening remarks at this impressive ceremony made also reference, by showing deep respect for the RAU Founder’s – Professor Ion Smedescu – entrepreneurial spirit, hard work, strategic thinking and total dedication towards continuing RAU resolution, delivering accordingly to the planted RAU tree for posterity, this beautiful tree needing to be watered regularly and wisely, keeping up with the times, which represents a challenging binding legacy.
Rector Costel Negricea warmly welcomed participants to Opening ceremony from the very beginning, and after delivering the significant above-mentioned message (that also underlined RAU’s constant preoccupation with better answering to RAU students’ rising needs and expectations both in academic quality, and employability, capitalizing on the most recent educational techniques and cooperating with the important actors on the labor market) invited: distinguished guests to take the floor; the audience to listen to the messages addressed to RAU academic community on this special occasion by other distinguished guests; (the last but not least) inspired Students’ representatives to deliver their speeches.
In the second part of this impressive RAU Opening ceremony the participants enjoyed a wonderful music programme performed by the young and valuable vocal group Celeste, reconfirming that music is always the universal language of mankind, the language of spirit, being intergenerational and having a multiple action… before anything else.
