The Rector of the Romanian-American University, Professor Ovidiu Folcuț (Photo: Rector Ovidiu Folcuț, between Professor Bernd Hallier, President of the European Retail Academy, and Dean Alexandru Ionescu, RAU’s School of Management-Marketing) was a member of the Scientific Committee of the Second International Congress SANABUNA, together with other distinguished professors such as Professor Ioanel Sinescu (Member of the Romanian Academy, and Rector of the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacie, Bucharest), Professor Remus Pricopie (Rector of the National School of Political Science and Public Administration), Professor Petru Filip (“Dimitrie Cantemir” University, Bucharest, and Vice President of the Romanian Senate), Professor Gheorghe Orzan (Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest) – the last two Professors are also colleagues with our Rector within the Editorial Board of our “Holistic Marketing Management” Journal.
Professor Ovidiu Folcuț, Rector of the Romanian-American University, will have in the near future a working meeting with the Honorary President of the Congress “SANABUNA International” (http://www.sanabuna.ro/ ), Professor Eliot Sorel, George Washington University, who convened, in July 2010, the Black Sea & Caspian Sea Area Studies Network, a Euro-Atlantic, universities partnership that developed the Bucharest Consensus on Higher Education, Innovation & Development. Professor Eliot Sorel, M.D., D.L.F.A.P.A., an internationally recognized global health leader, educator, health systems policy expert and practicing physician, is the Founder of the Conflict Management & Conflict Resolution Section of the World Psychiatric Association and of the World Youth Democracy Forum at the Elliott School of International Affairs of the George Washington University. His book, The Marshall Plan: Lessons learned for the 21st century was published by OECD in Paris in 2008, is accessible at www.oecd.org. Professor Eliot SOREL, will launch on October 29, 2012, in San Francisco, a new book: “21st Century Global Mental Health”.
It is also worth to remember on this occasion the significant involvement of the School of Management-Marketing of the Romanian-American University on April 9, 2009 (http://www.rau.ro/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=241), in the partnership for the Conference SANABUNA 2009 held at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, which approached the imperative of reflection and responsible action on the issue “health-food-welfare”, seeking to identify the new and necessary direction of attitudes which would allow the establishment of a partnership between the public and the private sector. The event’s interdisciplinary character allowed covering certain new aspects, starting from the harmonization of the preoccupations related to building a truly better life, in the context of the pressure of the awareness concerning the connections between health, food and the different aspects of businesses and the imperative of identifying the right answers in the confrontation with the welfare reform, reconfiguring consistent ways with fundamental values, education being in the center of the adaptation, and solidarity could not be neglected.
