On the occasion of the inclusion of Professor John L. Stanton in its prestigious Hall of Fame, European Retail Academy made a new reference to its partnership with the Romanian-American University (RAU), by mentioning that Professor Stanton was also honored by the ERA Partner RAU in Bucharest, Romania.
The European Retail Academy (ERA) was founded in February 2005 at the World’s No. 1 Retail Trade Fair EuroShop (Düsseldorf, Germany) by Prof. Dr. Bernd Hallier and some of his academic friends to support the Bologna-process and the interaction between theory and application in the field. Today www.european-retail-academy.org has links to more than 225 research-institutes for trade/marketing/ tourism all over the world. The ERA Hall of Fame selects each year one professor who stands out in terms of outstanding contributions within the international interaction of research and applied sciences. Léon F. Wegnez, Romano Prodi, Klaus Toepfer, Robert Aumann were the distinguished personalities who have been honored by ERA in the last four years.
Allow us to take this opportunity to remember that RAU Rector Ovidiu Folcut has awarded Professors John L. Stanton (a Member of the ERA Board of Trustees) and Bernd Hallier (President of ERA) Diplomas of „Special Academic Merit”. It is also worth mentioning that RAU Rector Ovidiu Folcut and Professor Dumitru Miron (a Member of the ERA Board of Trustees), President of the Romanian-American Foundation for the Promotion of Education and Culture continue to have fruitful exchanges of ideas with both distinguished personalities mentioned above about promoting a better relationship between education and practice within the increasingly international context.
